This is a translation project report on UN documents. The source text is An analysis of the resource mobilization function within the United Nation system. In the source text, the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon furthers this topic through analyzing resource mobilization function within the United Nations System and identifying good practice. His research ends up with five recommendations and learned lessons. The original text is a UN document.Concerning text type and translation, the translator chose the theory of Notion of Anxiety of Influence proposed by Harold Bloom in the 1970's,as his translation theory to indicate that translation itself is a process featuring with self-affirmation,self-negation,and retranslation during which the translator has the dual “predecessor” and “successor” natures in the theoretic domain of translation poetic. The translation project report is composed of four chapters.Chapter one introduces the project background and its significance and purpose.Chapter two states an analysis of the original text and the applied translation.Chapter three analyzes the difficulties and the approaches to overcome them. The last chapter draws a conclusion on the lessons and experiences gained in carrying out this project and problems needed to research in the future. The author hope that the target text will offer the Chinese researchers, business leaders, and government officials a better look at the resources mobilization and its functions within their organizations, providing a comprehensively solution to resource imbalance and contribution problem of their own.At the same time, the translation project itself could hopefully serve as materials and references for peers and latecomers who intend to conduct relevant researches.
