An Analysis Of The Generation And Features Of “Zhen Huan Style” Based On SP Model

People's emotional ups and downs will be reflected through network catchphrases as the network culture has become more closely intergrated with social life.Catchphrases,which exert imperceptible influence on people's social life and entertainment,remain a strong growth.Therefore,it is not only a recreational tool,but also a significant part of the modern Chinese language.This thesis aims at analyzing the phenomenon of catchphrases,taking “Zhen Huan Style” as an example,to illustrate its generation and transmission.The research on catchphrases provides a theoretical support for guiding and constructing a healthy and harmonious living environment for network catchphrases.In the meanwhile,it can bring catchphrases much closer to daily life.From the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics and Construction Grammar,this thesis establishes the framework of SP on the basis of theories of Schematization and Parody to explore the motivation and mechanism of “Zhen Huan Style” and its syntactic,semantic and pragmatic features.The author adopts 1042 items of “Zhen Huan Style” from 2012 to 2014 in blog as the data to carry out a qualitative and quantitative analysis.The study finds that:1.Syntactically,“Zhen Huan Style” belongs to a system of discourse constructions which is composed of one or several cohesive sentences or compositions.In the process of reproduction and transmission,compared with the prototypical instances,extensive structures account for a larger proportion of 53.36%.In return,the frequent uses of certain syntactic structures will affect and confine the form of “Zhen Huan Style.” Extensive structures are constructed by imitating and parodying prototypical syntactic structures in the process of syntactic Schematization.2.Semantically,based on the elaborations and extensions of the prototypical semantic meanings of the extensive structures,the author finds some differences in the formation of different extensive structures.The constructional meanings of discoursesin the first type is in consistence with that of the scripts in the drama,while the latter ones are ad hoc discourse structures as the results of accommodation and extension of the prototypes.However,all those are the outcome of the mechanism of Parody.3.Pragmatically,“Zhen Huan Style” embodies four pragmatic features:subjectivity,entertainment,productivity and immediacy.It shows different pragmatic meanings under different circumstances.And this paper argues that the pragmatic meanings of catch-discourses are the parodies(especially imitations)of the prototypical instances in order to achieve humorous and unconventional effects.
