The goal of teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCSL)is to cultivate students'ability of using language to communicate,and communication is inseparable from oral expression.In this case,the oral class is essential in language teaching.As the basis of teaching and learning,textbook plays a very important role in the course.A good oral class can't do without a good oral textbook,and as the first textbook used by most primary learners,primary spoken textbooks are very important for learners to form a good language habit and interest.In recent years,there are a lot of researches on oral textbooks,but it is rare to make a contrastive study on the teaching materials of oral Chinese and English.In fact,teaching English as a second language in China started early and has developed for a long time.Therefore,there's much in the design of English textbook that we can learn.At the same time,the teaching materials of TCSL also have a certain reference value for English teaching materials.Therefore,it would be helpful for the further development of the two kinds of textbooks to put them together and make a comparative analysis.The paper takes two primary oral textbooks in Chinese and English to make comparative analysis,in order to draw more conclusions different with previous ones.This paper is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which briefly introduces the reasons and significance of this topic.The writer also define several concepts of the papaer.In the second chapter,the author introduces the basic situation of the two selected textbooks,and explains the reasons for the selection of them.The third,fourth and fifth chapter is the most important chapter of this article.In the fourth chapter,the author makes a comparative analysis of the two textbooks from the following aspects:the writing design,the text and the exercises.Writing design includes analysis of writing style and each class/units set;the main part consists of text analysis,topic,annotation and translation and cultural knowledge supplement contrast;exercise part is divided into two aspects:comparative analysis of quantity and types of exercises.In each part,the author has made a conclusion for this part of the contrast,and summed up what the two textbooks can learn from each other.In the last chapter,the author summarizes the conclusions of each part,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two textbooks,and summarizes the full text.
