Research On The Female Images In Zhang Wanting's Films

Zhang Wanting is the outstanding female director of Chinese film industry,and she made more than ten movies in his thirty years career.Her films had won many domestic and international awards,received praise from the industry and audience.As a female director,Zhang Wanting pays attention to the fate of women with her unique female perspective and tells the story of women with exquisite writing techniques.Therefore,the study of Zhang Wanting's films with the analysis of female images has a certain significance to the creation of film and television art,art and cultural studies and sociology research.From the perspective of image analysis,narrative perspective,audio-visual language and cultural interpretation,this study trying to explain and summarize the characteristics of female image,shaping methods and culture background of Zhang Wanting's film.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the significance of the research,the research status and the general situation of Zhang Wanting's film.The second part the characteristics of female images in Zhang Wanting's films,found that the female images in Zhang Wanting's films showing the features of youth,individual independence,love first,optimistic and strong,through the analysis of physical appearance,the image of female identity,the relationship between the characters.Their female consciousness is gradually awakening.These features made the images of women Zhang Wanting created more vivid and close to life.The third part the method of female image shaping,digged out that based on the narrative strategy from female perspective,Zhang Wanting portrayed image combined with the unique image language: space environment shape of semi recording style,medium and close range feature,using long and slow lens,light color and music contrast.The fourth part the culture background of shaping female image,Starting with Zhang Wanting's dual roles,found the internal consistency about temperament between Zhang Wanting and the female image in her film,through Zhang Wanting's growth environment and education background.Finally,starting from the culture background,combined with the self expression about the era of the director,exploredthe inner relation among Hongkong culture characteristics,feminist perspective and female image shaping.Based on aesthetics,film criticism and feminist theory,this study made content and semiotics analysis about the movie text.The study found that the female image in Zhang Wanting's movies is different from the female image in mainstream of social life and these images give the audience the sense of mystery and fearlessness.Most of the female images are derived from the real life of Zhang Wanting,some of which are the result of the combination of literary works and real life.It is based on this particularity,that makes Zhang Wanting's female image has a strong infectivity and enlightenment.On the contrary,it also limits the diversification and popularity of female images of Zhang Wanting's films.
