This report is based on the author's field work of meeting interpretation in Sanhua Automotive.The interpretation is about the company's Merge & Acquisition(M&A)plan for a German company named Ebersp?cher(EBH).The content of the meeting introduces a lot of professional terms in Automotive Industry,the industry trend and data,etc.,which can provide reference to the people that want to learn something from this industry.In this report,the author presents the whole process of the meeting interpretation.The report includes preparation before the meeting,such the collection of background information of automotive industry,related terms in this field and the features of the audiences.It focuses on the difficulties that the author met in the interpretation and how does she addressed these difficulties under the guidance of Sense-based theory,namely “understanding of source language”,“ derverbalization” and “reproducing of target language”.The author's background knowledge in exhaust emission of automotive industry helps her a lot in interpretation,and her accumulation of professional terms enables her to understand the specific meanings correctly.However,listening obstacles at times makes great difficulty in her work.In interpretation,the author tended to the principle of “understanding of source language” to deal with the problems like listening obstacles;as well as to reproduce the target language in conformity with Chinese expressive habit.In order to interpret the source language accurately and clearly,the English sentence structures should be reorganized,part of speech be converted,voices be changed when necessary,and words might be added to make the interpretation more understandable by the audience.
