Based on theoretical and positive analysis, this paper is aimed to explore the application and influence of the sense-based interpretive theory (the Paris School) in E-C live news interpretation. In the theory part, an introduction is first given to the sense-based theory. The sense-based interpretive theory (the Paris School) postulates that when interpreters have comprehended the source language, the speech is deverbalized, that is, stripped of its linguistic form to retain only the sense, which is then re-formulated in the target language. Interpretation also has an inherent sense of communication. Interpreters should prepare themselves with adequate theme knowledge and cognitive knowledge, and interpret to communicate in E-C live news interpretation. In the test part, this paper compared the performance between the interpreter and students in E-C live news interpretation to indicate that deverbalization is effective in improving the targeted text. This paper cited two evaluation systems. Since communicating information is the top priority for E-C live news simultaneous interpretation, accuracy and completeness are retained as the major elements of the evaluation system. The material is the statement delivered at the MH370press conferences. Interpreters are engaged for CCTV International and PHTV. Eight students at three academic levels are selected to join in the test. Then the performances are compared and results are obtained:in E-C live news simultaneous interpretation, students are far left behind in terms of using the sense-based theory and the application of such theory is effective in improving the quality of the interpretation. The conclusion of the test: interpreters and students are different in terms of using deverbalization. Deverbalization is necessary for both experienced interpreters and student interpreters. Due to lack of background information and the complexity of language structure, deverbalization is not able to be applied by the student interpreters. Therefore, the student interpreter shall accumulate knowledge, background information and learn more skills such as segmentation and forecasting.
