Punctuation plays an important role in Chinese written language.Punctuation can not only express different moods,but also express different semantics,which is not only pragmatic,but also semantic and grammatical.Foreign students can accurately understand the meaning of the sentence or article when the punctuation marks are used correctly.Looking back on the previous scholars' research on the use of Chinese punctuation marks,however,there are very few studies on the use of punctuation marks of foreign students from Ukraine.Thus,in this paper,an in-depth investigation and analysis of the use of punctuation marks of Ukraine students are carried out,the author wants to achieve some purposes.First,it is to supply the previous researches.The author reviewed the papers written by predecessors,and they have not yet investigated the use of punctuation marks of Ukraine students.Secondly,it is for the overall development of research.Based on the author's knowledge,most of the researches on punctuation prefer to error analysis.This paper not only has the error analysis,but also has a more comprehensive analysis of the use of punctuation marks of Ukraine students.Finally,it is to call attention to the research.Punctuation is often neglected in the teaching of Chinese as a second language.By writing this paper,it is expected to attract more scholars' attention to the problem.In this paper,the use of Chinese punctuation marks of Ukraine students was studied.The data are derived from the composition of foreign students from Ukraine and the questionnaire designed for Ukraine international students.Our purpose is to have more comprehensive knowledge of the use of Chinese punctuation marks of Ukraine students.To achieve this goal,there are some things we need to do:1)Collection of Chinese composition of Ukraine students as corpus;2)Investigation and analysis of punctuation marks in Corpus;3)Questionnaires were filled out by students and recycled in time;4)SPSS software was used to analyze the results of the questionnaires and the usage of punctuation marks in Ukraine Chinese composition corpus;5)Find out the law,explore the related issues,and give teaching suggestions.Punctuation marks using by Ukraine students are generally used in a single type,and the use of punctuation marks is not the same in different stages.Among the using of punctuation marks,period,comma,full stop,quotes,question mark,exclamation and colon accounted for more than 99%of the total frequency of use of punctuation,where periods and commas accounted for the total amount of 86.1%.The result show that on one hand,Ukraine students prefer to use those two marks,and on the other hand Ukraine students are limited in the use of punctuation type.Because of these,they can't fully express the contents and thoughts in the writing.Therefore,it is necessary for the teachers to help the students to develop the use of punctuation marks.Generally speaking,with the deepening of the process of foreign language learning,the degree of mastery of punctuation is improved,and the types and quantity of use are obviously enhanced.Inevitably,there will be errors in the using of punctuation,which is a necessary process in the process of language learning.This paper analyzes the problems of Ukraine students' errors in writing errors,error plus errors and misuse errors.In addition to error analysis,this paper also studies the characteristics of the correct use of punctuation.The combination of error analysis and correct analysis help to give corresponding teaching strategies in the daily teaching,and help Ukraine students learn more efficiently.This paper also uses the questionnaire to supply the research data.In the type of errors,the primary class still has a considerable part of the writing errors.The general trend in the use of punctuation marks is `correct>omission>wrong>adding'(>called more than).In the junior survey,the wrong and the omission have roughly the same number of period,comma and comma;the omission of quotes,colon and book marks has a high proportion;among all punctuation marks,the adding proportion of commas is the highest,the wrong proportion of ellipsis and exclamation is the highest.The accuracy rate of each punctuation mark in the middle and advanced questionnaire has been improved,and the proportion of the adding has been reduced.In general,the Ukraine students' sentence level is still relatively low.After analyzing the questionnaires,it is found that Ukraine students realized the importance of punctuation in the usual writing,and paid attention to the use of punctuation.However,Ukraine students still have some problems in learning and need teachers give correct guidance in the teaching process.Through the analysis of the investigation and the results of error information,some specific suggestions are given in the teachers' daily teaching process,teachers should pay attention to the use of punctuation in the process of teaching,and guide students to learn punctuation.
