In Michael Long's view, interaction and input are two major players in the process of acquisition. Many researchers, including Swain,Gass et el,have attempted to combine them two in order to explore the mechanism of language acquisition.Their researches reflect a dialectical relationship between them that interaction and input are closely linked and interacting with each other. However,an overview of existing research has shown that researches on the interaction-input relationship are almost from the “interaction to input” perspective. While this article focuses on the“input to interaction” perspective, seeking to enrich the theory of interaction-input relationship on one hand, and at a practical level to make an attempt to use instructions to optimize classroom teacher-student interaction on the other hand.Following a “finding-analyzing-solving problems” research route and based on an overall “literature review-investigation-theoretical analysis-practice validation”research idea, this study chronicles the process in which a beginning teacher and I made effort to employ instructions to optimize classroom teacher-student interaction. Results have shown that employing instructions to optimize teacher-student interaction is an effective way to realize reform of foreign language teaching in higher vocational education. In order to achieve sound effect in practice,we suggest that firstly, reform should rely on the change of teaching concept and establishing a correct teaching view;secondly, strengthening teaching reflection can improve teachers' consciousness and skills in employing instructions to classroom teacher-student interaction optimization which contributes to teacher-student interaction guidance and management;thirdly, training and incentive mechanism should be established to help encourage teachers to carry out research and practice.
