Particular Sensitive Sea Area,as the reference book of "the research on relationship between international convention of the sea traffic and international agreement on the marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction",focus on the study of protecting vulnerable maritime area. The important linguistic characteristic of this book is that derivations are highly used.Five high-frequency words-pollute,operate,accident,protect and present, have more than 4 derived forms, especially the word 'present' with 7 forms. The part of speech and grammatical function of these 5 words have a significant change because of adding different affixes, which requires different translation strategies on their derivation. The report firstly makes an analysis of the affix, meaning, part of speech and grammatical function of these derivations, and then makes the initial translation on the text with 5 frequently used derivations.Under the guidance of Skopostheorie of Vermeer and "Three Principles" of Functionalist Translation Theory, the translator makes a deep analysis and a sufficient proofreading on the initial translation. The adjustment and correction of the final draft is on the basis of characteristics and background of the text, and the report also adopts different translation strategies in order to make a perfect and accurate translations. The report is aimed at summing up translation rules and skills and providing reference value to derivation study in other texts.
