| Nowadays,as environmental pollution and ecological deterioration caused by conventional fossil energy become increasingly serious,some efficient,clean and renewable non-conventional energy such as wind energy gets more and more attention in the world.However,the utilization and development of wind power in China is still at the initial stage,which means drawing on experience from advanced countries is of vital importance.Therefore,the translation of English energy policy texts is also essential.Furthermore,confronted with these professional texts,translators may find it more difficult to finish the high-qualified translation in limited time.Therefore it is necessary to conduct further analysis of energy policy texts toimprove the translation quality.This thesis chooses the section 2.6 Transportation,Design and Installation and section 2.7Wind Integration and Delivery from Wind Vision: A New Era for Wind Power in the United States released by United States Department of Energy in March,2015 as the research object.During the translation process,this thesis selects seven typical English parallel texts about energy policy and their corresponding Chinese versions after studying numerous energy policy texts.On the basis of text characteristics,the model of comparing parallel texts is applied to analyze and elaborate the similarities and differences among English energy policy texts and their Chinese translations in lexical,syntactical and textual conventions.Combined with translation strategies,the findings are then employed as guidelines to deal with some translation problems such as mistranlations of technical words and logic disorder.This thesis finds that the model of comparing parallel texts can help translators to understand the wind power knowledge quickly,choose the translation of professional terms accurately and provide translators more expressions so as to make the translations more smooth and authentic. |
