China and other countries around the world have further studied on financial academic journals and more and more original versions of English financial journals have been referred to by China with the rapid development of the global economy. Therefore, demand for translating English academic journals is increasing. However, this kind of journals usually has a wide range of research topics, complicated background knowledge, various technical terms so that it is difficult to translate a highly specialized financial English academic journal with great differences between English and Chinese. This not only requires the translator to have solid translation skills, but also needs to know about relevant financial knowledge. The translation material of this report is selected from chapter 13 of the Global Banking Crisis and EmergingMarkets, which mainly focuses on the impact and challenges of the Basel Framework on emerging economies, developing economies and small economies.Combined with the translation practice of financial academic text, the report explores the application of parallel texts in the financial translation project, analyzes the financial academic papers of stylistic features and translation difficulties, and explores the specific translation strategies to resolve the translation difficulties from lexical and syntactic level of the financial academic journal. The main lexical difficulties of this project are persons' names, financial terms, abbreviations and common words with specialized meanings. So the translator proposes corresponding solutions respectively that she adopts transliteration, literal translation and contextual translation to solve the lexical difficulties. In addition, syntactic difficulties also exist in the financial academic journal which has many long and difficult sentences with complex logic so the translator adopts division and inversion to solve the difficulties of long sentences. At the same time, passive voice is often used because the academic financial journal expresses objective facts with plain language. On the basis of making the translation accurately convey the textual information and keep stylistic style, the translator adopts conversion to make the translation more conform to expression habits of Chinese readers. At last, the report summarizes the experience and limitations of translation practice, and provides reference for translating academic financial texts and lays the foundation for the translator in future translation work.
