Intonation is one of the most difficult parts of learning spoken Chinese for foreign students,it is also an intractable problem in TCSOL.This thesis uses the method of experimental phonetics to extract and analyze the sentences of students and native speakers through software.This thesis describes the Chinese declarative intonation learning situation of Thai students by the analysis of full range,sub-range,undulating scale and intonation pattern,also,it would analyze form the aspect of tone range,grammatical structure and inter language relationships of Chinese and Thai.This paper hopes to explore the errors in Chinese declarative intonation that may exist in Thai students,analyze their errors in the acquisition process,and explore the teaching methods of intonation learning in order to put forward some suggestions to guide the study and teaching in TCSOL.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction.It expounds the origin of the topic,defines the concept of intonation,introduces and analyzes the intonation research of China and abroad,and expounds the content and ideas of this thesis.The second part is experimental design.Chapter two gives a brief introduction to the research project of this experiment.It introduces the experimental sentence samples,the informants,the experimental steps,the experimental data extraction and data processing methods.Moreover,it summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the experiment.The third part is the experimental process and analysis.In this chapter,experimental data of three groups of sentences,includes Chinese same-tone sentence,Chinese natural focus sentence and Thai statement sentence,would be analyzed according to the item of full range,sub-range undulating scale and intonation pattern.It would also summarize the intonation errors of the Thai students.The fourth part is the teaching suggestions for the students.Based on the results of intonation errors,this chapter gives some suggestions on Chinese intonation teaching.The fifth part is the conclusion.This chapter summarizes the errors of intermediate level students in the Chinese declarative intonation learning process and summarizes the experimental conclusions.At the same time,it also points out the innovation and shortcomings of the thesis.The following conclusions are draw through this experiment.(1)The mainly characteristics of Chinese statements is the declination of intonation;(2)There are many intonation errors in Chinese statements for intermediate level Thai students,the error is mainly reflected as "full range is too narrow"," undulating scale deviation","same-tone sentences acquisition error"," grammar structure learning error ","tone and intonation learning error"and so on.(3)The negative transfer of the mother tongue does affact the Chinese declarative sentence intonation learning.The smaller full range,the difference pattern of undulating scale,the smaller boundary tone and the different grammatical structure and voice characteristics of the Thai language,all have a negative impact on learning Chinese declarative intonation.(4)Chinese teacher should enhance students' awareness of intonation learning,emphasiz the unity of tone and intonation and emphasiz the unity of intonation and sentences,last but not the least,teachers could slove the problem through the innovation of teaching method.
