Concept map is a tool to organize and express knowledge in the form of chart,which can show the students' knowledge structure in a vivid and intuitive way,and be beneficial for students to understand,remember and apply what they have learned.With the development of the information society and the increasingly fierce social competition,the idea of learning and lifelong learning becomes more and more popular.As an effective learning strategy,concept map can optimize students' knowledge structure,promote active learning and meaningful learning.At abroad,theoretical research on the strategy of concept map is very rich,while the application of concept map strategy in the empirical research on learning is a lot;however,in China,the strategy of concept map and study is not much,application research is less.Therefore,this study explored the concept mapping strategy in improving students' achievement of biology by a high school biology knowledge carrier and from the concept map as a learning strategy perspective.This study had selected two parallel classes of Nanchang City nineteenth middle school senior two as the experimental class and the control classes.Before the experiment,two groups of students had been inquired the status of the use in the concept map strategy to lay the foundation for the next experimental study,while used the "Biological Learning Interest Questionnaire" to determine whether biological interest of the two classes was consistent to eliminate the experimental interference.In the experimental implementation phase,the students in the experimental class had taken the concept map strategy to review,summarize the biological knowledge.Meanwhile,the students of the control class had adopted the traditional method to carry out the biology knowledge review,and the scores of the final examination last semester were used as the pre-test data,the scores of the final examination this semesters were used as the post-test data.After that,the data were statistically analyzed with t-test by SPSS software,and theexperimental class of different grades of students' academic performance and different gender students academic performance were underwent analysis of difference.At the end of the experiment,“Concept map strategy implementation questionnaire”was used to investigate the effect of the concept map strategy,and the experimental results were further analyzed according to the case study.Finally,the results are as follows:(1)The academic performance of the experimental class students who adopted the concept map strategy was significantly higher than the students who used the conventional learning strategies;(2)The concept map strategy can improve the academic performance of the boys and girls in the experimental class,however,there were differences in the degree of improvement,the performance of girls increased more significantly;(3)The concept map strategy had no significant difference in improving the academic performance of the students of the experimental class and the low group of students.(3)The concept map strategy had no significant difference in the academic performance of the high-level students and the low-level students.This study concluded that the concept map strategy had helped students improve their knowledge structure and academic performance.At the same time,the concept map strategy was more effective for the female students to improve their academic performance than the male students',but there was no significant difference in the academic achievement of students with different academic levels.
