This is a report based on C-E translation project of chapter one from The Belt and Road: Chinese View of Global Development,a typical book introducing the Belt and Road,including its historical origin,current features and so on.With the typical examples in translation,this report will study the influence of cultural differences between the west and the east towards translation for global communication from cross-cultural perspective.The author will not only discuss the general characteristics of global communication,but also deeply analyze the marked stylistic features different with other global communications.The global communication has cultural flavors,political overtones and pays attention to its effectiveness,while what global communication about the Belt and Road highlights is its cultural,political and creative natures.In the process of translation,languages,cultures,politics,economies and ideologies of the native language society and the target language society would affect the quality of translation for global communication from the macro or micro aspects.This report will first introduce The Belt and Road: Chinese View of Global Development and its author.And then this report introduces report preparation,report background,domestic research on translation for global communication and significance of the report.The second part mainly analyzes the stylistic features of global communication about the Belt and Road with the combination of concrete examples in translation.It is the stylistic features that require translators to have cross-cultural awareness and take differences between eastern and western cultures into consideration in the process of translation.The third part mainly introduces the cross-cultural awareness and the significance and necessity of having this awareness in the process of translation.And then this report will further introduce several principles under the guidance of the cross-cultural awareness.With the analysis above as the theoretical basis,this report continues to analyze the translation strategies and practical approaches with the concrete examples to eliminate the cultural barriers in translation.Finally,the fourth part briefly analyzes the limitations of the report and provides suggestions for improvement.At the same time,the author summarizes findings and implications in this report.
