The Research Of “XY Toponym” Referentiality

There are a special kind of words in Chinese,called inverse morphemes words,such as“Fengmi——Mifeng”,and attracts attention of many researchers.At the same time,there is a special kind of inverse morphemes phrase in Chinese,such as“Biaoyan Zaji——Zaji Biaoyan”,little study has been done of it.The emergence of a large number of fashionable and novel headlines after 2000,such as “ Jingdian Zhongguo”“Meili Zhongguo”“Qingchun Beijing”“Meili Nanchang”and a series of new combinations,the new component formed by putting a place noun after a common noun is marked as“XY toponym”in this paper.The traditional component formed by putting a place noun before a common noun is marked as “ Toponym XY”,such as“Zhongguo Wenhua”“Zhongguo Yishu”“Zhongguo Wushu”“Beijing Ti'anmen”“Yindu feibing”and so on.“XY toponym”can be directly used as a headline.For example,“Jingdian Zhongguo”used to be CCTV column name,is more suitable for title than“Zhongguo Jingdian”.The main purpose of this paper is to explore why the “XY toponym” is more suitable than most of the“Toponym XY”for headline.On the basis of existing research,this article mainly takes the headline of the website and books,organization,TV program,film and television drama from visual angle of simultaneity.The author analyzes the syntax,semantics and pragmatic features of“XY toponym”as well as“Toponym XY”,tries to find the properties of referentiality of“XY toponym”,focus on the analysis of“XY toponym”referentiality.This article consists of four parts:Chapter I: Introduction.This article first presents the cause of“XY toponym”as well as the meaning of selecting this topic and the research methodology,reviews the previous academic research and its deficiencies.Chapter II: A comparative analysis of“XY toponym”and“Toponym XY”.First of all,this paper analyzes the syntax,semantics and pragmatics of“Toponym XY”and“ XY toponym ”.Secondly,this paper summarizes the specific situation of the“Toponym XY”and“XY toponym”in the various title,as well as the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic features.Finally,on the basis of the comparative analysis of the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic features of“Toponym XY”and“XY toponym”,it is concluded that the“Toponym XY”is more suitable for headline.Chapter III:The cause of “ XY toponym ” referentiality.There are two main reasons for“XY toponym”referentiality:First,considering the source,“XY toponym”is derived from the English website name and multinational company name used as a whole,producing the memetics effect.Second,from the angle of word order,“ XY toponym ” is the reverse order of “ toponym XY ”.Due to the role of semantic orientation,“XY toponym ”semantic density enhanced significantly.No possessive relationship between“XY ”and“toponym”,but there is a certain property relationship between“XY toponym”.Finally,then use the relevant examples to prove argument.Chapter IV: Summary.Summarize all the ideas mentioned in the essay and draw a conclusion.And point out the main innovation and deficiencies.
