Judith·Scott's "Outsider" Art

Judith Scott's special status as a patient with Down's syndrome and deaf has led her to a unique approach to creation and presentation.While she enjoys a great reputation in the west,there has been no research about her in China.Concerning about brut art,Chinese researchers such as Li Bin?Song Wen and Chen Lihua have published series papers focus on stating the history of brut art.In this paper,the case analysis of this artist will show a relatively clear,complete life experience and creative experience of the artist,and then leads to the discussion of the untraditional creation "outsider art".Based on the analysis of Judith Scott's basic experiences and major works,this paper combines the concept of “Outsider Art”,analyses the history of the art,the history analysis method and the image research method to conduct a more contextualized in-depth analysis.This paper introduce the artist's special creative experiences and her works,and further analyses the unique perspective of Judith Scott,who is known as the "outsider",as well as the unique way of creation,the new thought her works brought to the art environment.This paper wishes to conclude that weather the artist's approach is different from the normal way of art creation through the analysis of the artist's case and the study of the art framework of the outsider.
