A Translation Report On Political And Technical Considerations For Designing Water Security Indicators

The content of this translation report is excerpted from the third part of Water Security,which is mainly about practice debates.This part mainly introduces political and technical considerations for designing water security indicators.Translation of this book not only embodies the specialty feature of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power but also meets this university's requirements of water culture research.So far,there is a lack of studies on water security in China.This book represents the forefront of foreign water culture series to some extent and is of a great value to our domestic research and development on water culture.This book is characteristic of the text of academic literature.The translation procedure is completed by collaborative team.The theory of “functional equivalence” of Eugene Nida is employed as a guidance to resolve the problems in the course of translation through corresponding translation strategies and skills.The translator adopts the methods of amplification and omission to deal with the problems in vocabulary.In Syntactic level,the translator uses the means of component analysis of the complex sentences and restructuring of the complex sentences.In the pragmatic translation part,the translator adopts the methods of equivalent translation and non-equivalent translation.Through this translation,the translator hopes to improve the translation ability and provide reference for academic literature text translation.
