Practice Study Report On E-C Translation Of The Importance Of Living (Excerpts)

Under the guidance of Skopos theory and skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule,this practice study report takes the translation practice of The Importance of Living written by Lin Yutang as the main study object to explore the language style of prose.Meanwhile,it also concludes some skills and strategies to deal with these difficult points while translation.Except the Introduction and Conclusion parts,this practice study report contains four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to The Importance of Living,including project source,author's introduction and the brief summary of the content of the text.The second chapter is the summary of the translation process,including the preparation before translation practice,the analysis of the language characteristics of the text,the translation process and the translation evaluation;the third chapter is the study of the translation action,mainly including the introduction of the Skopos theory and the application of the theory during the translation practice.The fourth chapter is the case studies.This part is the key chapter,including the translation of the vocabularies,word groups,sentences and discourses.By analyzing the difficult points during translation practice,the author concludes the detailed skills and strategies during the translation of The Importance of Living.
