Based on the English-Chinese translation practice of the academic work Literary Readingy Cognition and Emotion, this paper probes into the translation methods of academic works in combination with the cases in translation practice guided by Skopos Theory put forward by Vermeer, and puts forward corresponding suggestions. The translation practice report consists of five parts.Firstly, the author introduces the translation task, the content of the practice and the significance of the task, and then summarizes the whole translation process from three aspects:the preparation of pre-translation materials, the specific translation process and the reflection after translation. Then,in Chapter 3,the author introduces the theoretical guidance of translation practice, namely Skopos Theory of Translation and its three principles:Skopos Principle,Coherence Principle and Fidelity Principle. In Chapter 4,guided by the three principles of Skopos Theory, the author explores the selection and application of translation methods in the process of translating academic texts from the lexical, syntactic and discourse perspectives. Finally,by summarizing and reflecting on this translation practice, the author analyses the limitations of this translation practice and puts forward suggestions for future translators.
