The Longitudinal Study Of Positive Illusion And Romantic Relationship Satisfaction:Moderating Effect Of Secure Attachment

Previous research has found that the higher positive illusion,the more satisfied relation.But scholars hold different opinions about whether positive illusion can forecast long-term relationship satisfaction or not.Besides,researchers argued that people in secure attachment have more stable relationship,higher satisfaction,and more positive mood.Based on what the researcher have been found,the present study want to assess the relations among them and whether they will be stable.The research use face recognition tasks and questionnaire survey to do a track study of 102 participants in six months.For positive illusion we use two indicators:assess the face and personality traits.Besides,we use the experience in close relationship,relationship adjustment measurement to assess safe attachment and relationship satisfaction.Based on the test results in study before and after half year,we concluded as follows.(1)Positive illusion exists in both face recognition task and the evaluation of personality traits.(2)There are gender differences in neuroticism dimension in pretest.And in posttest shows no gender difference.(3)The more positive illusion,the higher the relationship satisfaction.(4)positive illusion predict the relationship satisfaction across time.(5)Secure attachment style immediately moderates the face recognition positive illusion and relationship satisfaction but not across time.The research adopts more direct face recognition task,and introduce the adult attachment styles may richer the study of the relationship between positive illusion and relationship satisfaction and widen the positive illusion of empirical research method.It is also a way to guide student couples to have a healthy relationship.
