Technical interpreting, as a bridge for communication, plays an important role in international exchange. As a type of interpreting for specific purposes, it should meet the standard of clear and logical organization. It is often an enormous challenge for an interpreter to produce texts in a clear and logical way in target language, especially when the source text contains intricate and abundant information. This report is based on the TRUMPF (China)'s SIS Training Interpreting Project the reporter undertook from August 15th to 16th, 2016. The difficulty with the project points to how to output target texts with clear and logical organization. The issues that the reporter encountered are revealed mainly in three forms, namely, fragmented information, disorganized structure and inconsistent information. Based on recorded data and data analysis, the reporter identifies the real causes behind the symptoms: lack of background knowledge or poor short-term memory;main structure overshadowed by details or links absent; and the disconnection with information from the previous text, and poor self-monitoring ability. Drawing upon personal experience and related theoretical research, the reporter puts forward corresponding solutions, including enlarging background knowledge and activating knowledge system, enhancing short-term memory, holding a global view as well as developing self-monitoring ability. These solutions help to attain good quality of target texts by presenting clear and logical organization. The findings of this report may help enhance MTI students' understanding of technical interpreting, and may also provide reference as to how to produce target texts with clear and logical organization.
