A Case Study On Whispering Interpreting In "British Healthcare Service" Business Negotiation Project

International business cooperation is gaining momentum as the world economy is booming rapidly. The quality of face-to-face communication plays a significant role in leading to business cooperation success. Interpreting is usually adopted in business negotiation when two parties speaking different languages carry out business talks and negotiations. In order to ensure consistency and efficiency of the business negotiation meeting when there are not many attenders requiring interpretation service, whispering simultaneous interpreting is an ideal way to realize effective communication.Based on one whispering simultaneous interpreting experience in a business project with the theme of "British Healthcare Service",this report studies several issues of whispering interpreting, one form of simultaneous interpreting in business context from the perspective of objective factors and subjective factors. Objective factors involve noisy environment, different styles of speakers and frequent interruptions. While subjective factors mainly refer to misinterpretation and missing of interpretation. In discussing solutions, explanation and waiting strategies can be adopted flexibly to cope with objective factors and the strategies of linear interpreting, anticipation, omission and reformulation can be applied to deal with subjective factors.
