With the further implementation of China's reform and opening-up policy,China is playing an increasingly important and irreplaceable role in the international community and the field of economy and trade.After the " The Belt and Road" initiative launched by General Secretary Xi Jinping,more and more foreign businessmen came to China to invest in factories,and they trade with Chinese government,enterprises and people from all walks of life.Thanks to the boom in cross-border trade,the demand for interpreters in business negotiations has increased considerably.In the summer of 2018,the author was selected by a local railway bureau as an interpreter to participate in the Business Negotiation Conference on Optical Cable Procurement with a German technology company,and then transcribed relevant audio into text for sorting and analysis.In view of the strong communication and transportation professional attributes of the negotiation project,the author makes full preparations for interpreting from seven aspects before the start of interpretation work.These seven pre-interpreting preparations include the prediction of emergencies happening in interpreting site and the accent of the foreign speaker.In the interpretation process,the practice report mainly uses Skopos theory as a theoretical guide,and analyzes and improves the original interpreted texts using Skopos rule,fidelity rule,and coherence rule respectively.And the author finds that the application of Skopos rule to business negotiation interpreting is able to reduce the interpreter's pressure on notes-taking and memorizing during high-intensity business negotiations.In addition,the author also summarizes the emergencies and difficulties during the interpretation process,and systematically introduces the corresponding interpretation site response tactics.After the interpretation work was completed,the author invites speakers from both sides to comment on the author's interpretation work.The author himself also evaluates his interpreting performance and makes a reflection of interpreter roles in business negotiation.The author hopes this report will be helpful to the interpreting learners as well as business negotiators,and also contribute to the academic research of English interpretation.
