Classroom teaching effectiveness is closely related to education quality.With the expansion of the Colleges,the quality of the current College English classroom teaching has slipped.Then current situation is not optimistic.Therefore,how to improve the current College English classroom teaching and achieve the effective teaching becomes urgent in College English education.In order to improve the College English classroom teaching quality,the author firstly started with the study of the current situation.By means of the literature review,questionnaire and interview,the author had a deep and comprehensive analysis of the current effectiveness of the College English classroom teaching.As a consequence,by revealing the existing problems of the College English classroom teaching,the thesis would explore the effective ways to improve the effectiveness combined with the relative theories.This article is divided into six chapters.Chapter One is an introduction part which introduces the background information.Chapter Two is the literature review part.The author introduces studies of teaching effectiveness and relative concepts,such as effective teaching,effective teacher,the features and standards of the effective teaching.Then the definition and features of the College English classroom teaching are introduced.Chapter Three is the theoretical part which introduces the Sociocultural Theory and Constructivism Theory.Chapter Four is the methodology part.The author introduces the research questions,research methods,the choice of the sample and data collection.Chapter Five is the main body of the dissertation.The author summarizes the exsiting problems of the current effectiveness of the College English classroom teaching by analyzing the data collected.Then the author tries to put forward some effective strategies to improve the effectiveness of the College English classroom teaching.Chapter Six is the conclusion part.The author summarizes the whole thesis by introducing the major findings and listing the limitations which can be served as references for further studies.
