| With the improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength,the country attaches more and more importance to the construction and development of education,and basic education in rural areas has also achieved certain development results.English is one of the most important courses in basic education.Classroom teaching is the main channel to implement English teaching in rural areas.Effective classroom teaching has become the most important link to improve the quality of English education.It is not difficult to find that there are still some problems in the current junior middle school English classroom in rural areas.For example,teachers’ teaching methods are single,classroom teaching emphasizes grammar knowledge and problem-solving skills,and teaching mode lacks innovation.This study is based on the author’s reflection on the above problems and practical experience in teaching in rural middle schools.Four rural middle schools in Nanzheng District are selected as the research objects to have a thorough understanding of the current situation of English classroom teaching in rural areas,to find out the existing problems in the teaching process in a timely and effective manner,and to explore the corresponding solutions.At the same time,it provides a reference for improving the current situation of English classroom teaching in rural middle schools,so as to radiate the vitality of English teaching.Firstly,this paper traces back to the background of the research,collates the research status of rural junior middle school English classroom at home and abroad by consulting literature,and defines the concepts of “English classroom teaching” and “teaching strategies”.Secondly,through classroom observation,questionnaires and interviews,this paper makes a comprehensive survey of English classroom teaching in four rural junior middle schools in Nanzheng District.It is found that there are some problems in English classroom in rural junior middle schools,such as single teaching method,lack of innovation in classroom,low participation of students in classroom,dull atmosphere in classroom,single evaluation method of students’ classroom performance and lack of encouraging evaluation.The obvious problems of incentive evaluation are analyzed and explored.Then,aiming at specificproblems,this paper puts forward corresponding improvement strategies from different perspectives of teachers’ teaching strategies: Firstly,teachers should change the concept of classroom teaching.Secondly,improve teaching design strategies,study textbooks,ingeniously conceive teaching links,and prepare for the classroom.Third,optimize the implementation strategy of teaching,adopt a variety of teaching methods,use multimedia resources,pay attention to classroom interaction and activate classroom atmosphere.Fourth,improve teaching management strategies,pay attention to students with learning difficulties and improve classroom efficiency.Fifth,improve teaching evaluation strategies,timely evaluation of students’ classroom performance,enrich teaching evaluation content,and promote classroom development.Finally,this paper summarizes the results and Enlightenment of this study,analyses the shortcomings and puts forward the prospect of future research on rural junior middle school English classroom teaching. |
