Comparative Study On Synonym Proverbs And Idioms In Chinese And Turkish

Idioms are one of the most important components of every nation's corpus.During this research process,by means of going through "Big Chinese Idioms Dictionary" and the"Turkish Language Association Idiom and Proverb Dictionary",simultaneously retrieving and checking data from Modern Turkish Language Association's online corpus and Beijing Language University's Modern Chinese corpus,we were able to search and find 144 corresponding idioms and proverbs in both languages,among 144 idiom 65 has appeared in Chinese language before 11th Century,which is the main target of this research.This dissertation based on comparative study of same meaning idioms and proverbs in Turkish and Chinese,that which has been formed by using same or similar meaning words and also compares them from four general aspects;word meaning,implied meaning,usage in a sentence and word order.
