A Study Of Moral Thoughts And Modern Values Of The Bais' Worship Of Local Gods

The Bai nationality's culture is an important part of treasury of Chinese culture and the culture of local gods is an indispensable part of the Bais' culture.Worship of local gods is a unique native religion of the Bai people,which contains profound moral thoughts and plays a crucial role in the development and stability of society and regions of the Bai nationality.Moral thoughts in worship of local gods budded in the primitive age,formed and developed during Nanzhao State and Dali Kingdom,were gradually perfected during Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties and enriched after the mdern times.Confucian,buddhist and Daoist thoughts introduced duirng Nanzhao State and Dali Kingdom enriched moral thoughts in worship of local gods.The moral thoughts contain rich thoughts about ecology,family,society and so on,which share common features with general moral thoughts and also have their individual qualities.Dialectical analysis shows that some of the Bais ' moral thoughts in the worship of local gods are appropriate for modern society but some are in conflict with it.Therefore,dialectic methods and attitudes should be adopted in order to fulfil their active role in modern society.With the guidance of Marxism,the thesis studies the Bais' moral thoughts in the worship of local gods from the perspective of ideological and political education.The thesis conducts a detailed analysis and a comprehensive,dialectic and systematic study,and fully investigates their values in modern society.
