A Study Of Ma Junwu 's Moral Thought

Ma Junwu lived in the era of a community with intense turmoil,when the country had internal and external problems,the national crisis was getting worse,ans the people were miserable.Therefore,saving the country and the people became the theme of the times.The task of that time was to arouse people's awareness of awakening and re-establish a new moral concept.As a famous bourgeois-democratic revolutionist,educator,translator and poet in the modern era,aiming at the current affairs,Ma Junwu not only propagated Western advanced moral thoughts through the translation of western works,but also published a series of treatises,lectures and poetry,criticizing Chinese old feudal ethics,from which he gradually formed the new moral concept with his own uniqueness,revolutionary tendency and the spirit of the times.This new moral concept provided inspiration to explore ways to save the country in the ideological level for people from the aspects of ideology and culture and morality.Therefore,its morality can not be ignored.It also has enlightening value to strengthen the construction of socialist morality by systematically combing and summarizing Ma Junwu's moral thoughts and exploring the rationality and limitations of his moral thoughts,and absorbing and drawing on the beneficial components.This paper is divided as a whole into four chapters:The first chapter summarizes the social and historical conditions and theoretical origins of Ma Junwu's moral thoughts as a whole.Political situation with internal and external problems,backward economy,Chinese and western culture with mutual collision and blending are the backgrounds of his moral thoughts.At the same time,Chinese traditional moral thoughts,advanced modern theories and advanced western modern concept are the theoretical support which can not be separated from the formation process of his moral thoughts.In the second chapter,the author analyzes his moral thoughts influenced by the personal experience of Ma Junwu,the international and domestic environment,and the Chinese and western education he received and the publishing of his related representative works,in order to summarize the development history of his moral thoughts.The development history of his moral thoughts goes through the birth period,the formation and developing period and mature period.In the third chapter,it summarizes the main contents and basic characteristics of Ma Junwu 's moral thoughts.The contents of his moral thoughts include four aspects:shaping civilized and enterprising concepts of remodeling the national character,cultivating private morality of personal freedom,promoting public morality for serving the country and the people,achieving the concept of equal rights of women and men and emphasizing both materials and spirit.At the same time,in the general analysis,we can find his moral thoughts presenting three unique basic characteristics.In the fourth chapter,it takes Ma Junwu moral thoughts as the product of a special era.His moral thoughts get rationality and limitations integrated.Therefore,it is necessary to make a comprehensive and objective evaluation towards these thoughts.First of all,the author makes a comment on the historical values of the moral thoughts of Ma Junwu,and then analyzes the historical limitations of Ma Junwu's moral thoughts.Finally,combining history and reality,it makes statements towards the contemporary value of Ma Junwu's moral thoughts.
