My Urban Landscape Oil Painting Creation Ang Experience

With the development of urbanization in society,there are more and more works of oil painting by artists who depict scenes of urban architecture and living conditions of city dwellers.This urban painting theme reflecting various attributes,such as paces of life,the spirit of the times,and on-the-spot record of humanity,is endowed with a more profound aesthetic meaning and a higher artistic level.A city is a complex of civilization formed by interactions and connections between people and various factors,including architecture,the environment,resources,ecology,and cultures.Paintings of urban scenery are just artistic works,built on this complex,conveying aesthetic meanings and cultural needs.Contents of my creation focus on daily life and streetscape in the district of Huifang streets in Xi'an,Shanxi.Penetration and impacts from heterogeneous cultures influence the traditional dwelling pattern of "mixed cohabitation with small settlements" and traditional living habits of the Hui nationality,which reveals a special charm featuring bustling and mixing of Huifang.During creation,I faced many problems as to concepts and techniques.Learning from others'painting languages and forms of art in a dialectical way is an efficient solution to problems.In this thesis,the author started with summarizing painting languages of other artists by analyzing their forms of composition,color expression,emotion and other artistic features in an in-depth way.Then,the author,on the basis of feelings during creation with the theme of streetscape in Huifang streets,tried to find theoretical guidance suitable for the author at the current stage in practice and tried to seek for techniques and skills that can improve a picture towards harmony.In this thesis,the author tried to do analysis and comparison in terms of composition,color expression,and artistic conception of various works so as to conclude the author's painting process from the dilemma to improvement.It's a record and correction of creative practices,as well as a verification and conclusion of creation basis and theoretical support.Through learning,I extended my trains of thought for creation,improved consciousness for creation,and came up with new plans as well as requirements for creation.I will continue to improve my own creation system.
