A Report On The Interpreting Of The Longmen Grottoes & The Mogao Grottoes In World Heritage In China

The world heritage represents a unique artistic achievement which is a special document of the vanished civilization or cultural tradition.As the modern man's spirit world,it stands for a nation's spirits and cultures.The Longmen Grottoes and the Mogao Grottoes are the peak work of Chinese stone carving art and the artistic expression of the Buddhist culture which reflects the changes in the development of many fields in politics,economy,religion and culture.The concentrated exhibition of many physical images and historical data has made a significant contribution to the innovation and development of Chinese grottoes and those beautiful stone arts are the precious records of the communication between the Chinese traditional culture and external civilizations.Translation is a bridge and the civilization can be developed well by it in foreign countries.Through translation,the world could better understand and know China.China,as the classical nation of five thousand civilizations,should use translation as a guide to find its rightful place in the world culture and spread the Chinese culture further.This thesis is based on a documentary from CCTV's World Heritage in China called The Longmen Grottoes and the Mogao Grottoes.In this report,the problems in consecutive interpreting are discussed and solutions are offered.Through this report,it can show our brilliant natural and cultural heritage to the world and also can arouse the audience the awareness for the protection of the world heritage.This not only needs the people of all countries to appreciate the Chinese civilization,but puts more care,more concern about the world heritage protection.Through this interpretation,the interpreter feels deeply that the best interpretation requires not only the higher language conversion ability,but also faster reaction speed,higher language comprehension and organizational skill.As an interpreter,I need to have a basic understanding of various industries in addition to the excellent interpretation skills and focus on the current affairs in the political,diplomatic,economic,and legal fields and other heated news to constantly enrich ourselves.
