The Analysis Of Modern Chinese "Aadverb Of Degree + State Adjectives" Phenomenon

This paper focuses on the use of “adverb of degree + state adjectives” in CCL.“adverb of degree +state adjectives” is not a new grammatical phenomenon,it had appeared in 1920 s and disappeared soon after,but in recent years it has reappeared.After a detailed analysis of the “you dian/ you xie/ hen/ fei chang/ zui + state adjectives” in CCL,we draw the following conclusions: first,“you dian,you xie,hen,fei chang,zui” in state adjective collocation shows the characteristics of imbalance that AA-style,ABB-style,AABB-style,BA-style state adjectives can be modified by “you dian,you xie,hen”,but the number of AA-style state adjectives modified by “hen” is rare.ABB-style,AABB-style and BA-style state adjectives can be modified by “fei chang,zui”.Second,the main syntactic function of “you dian/ you xie/ hen/ fei chang/ zui + state adjectives” is different.The main syntactic function of “you dian/ you xie/ hen/ fei chang+ state adjective”serve as the predicate,but “zui + state adjective”serves as attributive.“predicate >attributive> complement> adverbial> object” is the syntactic function of “adverb of degree + state adjective”.In addition,“adverb of degree + AA-style/ABB-style” tend to co-occurrence with “de”.“adverb of degree + AABB-style,BA-style” tend to co-occurrence without “de”.When “adverb of degree + state adjectives” serves as attributive and complement,it must co-occurrence with “de”.The other syntactic constituent can co-occurrence with “de” sometimes.As for the cause of “adverb of degree + state adjective”,we think that it is the semantic and pragmatic that affect the expression of syntactic structure.In particular,the semantic factor is the intrinsic motivation.First,it is the “quantity Extent” in “quantity point” of the state adjective “quantity”.Then it is the wear of“degree” in state adjective.Pragmatic factors are the external driving force,which mainly reflected in fouraspects.First,the language is subjective.Second,the speaker is not conscious of the grammar rules.Third,the social factors also have an impact on it.Last,it is the role of structural analogy.
