A Report On The Translation Of Beautiful Ningxia(Excerpts)

This thesis is a report on the translation of natural landscape,while the original text is excerpted from Beautiful Ningxia.The excerpted Chapter Two “Natural landscapes” describes in details unique and fantastic natural sceneries in Ningxia.All these natural sceneries are fully reflecting the distinctive ecological beauty of Ningxia.In the advance process of constructing “One Belt One Road”,Ningxia has become a new card for China's opening up today.As the big picture of tourism development in Ningxia,ecotourism shows the natural landscapes to world,contributing to the development of tourism in Ningxia.In this thesis,under the guidance of translation variation theory,the author focuses on the specific methods in the translation of tourism text.While the translation of tourism text underlines readability,so as a result,translator must take the readers' acceptance into consideration and ensure the coherence between the original text and the target text.In order to realize the purpose of Sino-international exchange,the author follows the guidance of translation variation theory and adopts some translation methods according to characteristics of original text.The report is divided into four parts.Firstly,the author outlines the translation task,mainly presenting the background of this task,the main content of the original text,the significance of the task and its theoretical direction.Secondly,it is the description of translation process,introducing pre-translation preparation,problems during translating and proofreading.The third part is translation cases analysis,the most important part in this thesis,including some difficulties in translation like translation of geographic names,translation of four-letter words and translation of the slangs,and discussion of different translation methods with the guidance of translation variation theory.In the fourth part,it is a summary to this translation practice.However,there are still many deficiencies need to be improved in this translation practice,but the author also gained valuable translating experience from it and had deep knowledge of the translation of the tourism text.It is meaningful that author sums up some translation methods for natural landscapes,and the author hopes this translation can promote the development of tourism economy in Ningxia.
