Fantasy literature is a kind of literary form which based on the reality,it describes the imaginary world of the author by surreal writing skills.The reason why the writer translates several chapters of A Song of Ice and Fire,which belongs to fantasy literature,as her translation practice and study,is that the development of fantasy literature between China and the western countries is imbalanced.In China,there are few quality fantasy novels for current times.On the contrary,western fantasy works,such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter,are abundant and stand high in the literary domain.Through her translation practice and study,the writer hopes to familiarize readers in China with fantasy literature through her translation practice and research,to provide some clue for the further development in Chinese fantasy literature.Moreover,to research some translation characteristics about fantasy literary texts,and accumulate experience for similar translation in the future.A Song of Ice and Fire is written by George R.R.Martin,a contemporary writer of America.The author translated parts of it under the guidance of creative treason and completed the practice study report.The author analyzed problems in the translation process and gives her own solutions,including how to exchange words and phrases of the original language with target language,how to deal with separation of long sentences and translate paragraphs which consist of dialogues and actions.The thesis,intends to improve the applicability of creative treason on fantasy literature through its specific examples analysis.For the Chinese versions of A Song of Ice and Fire are limited,the writer tries to summarize some translation strategies to provide later researches useful references.Ultimately,the writer wishes accumulate experience for future study and work.
