The Burning Spiritual Trajectory

Ba Jin(1904~2005)was prestigious for his medium and full length novels in the literary world and gained respects in his later years for the book with authentic words,namely the Random Thoughts.However,the related research on his large number of short stories created in a long span was rare.Based on divided stages of Ba Jin's works by academic circles,his short stories finished in early years during 1929 and 1941 were focused in this paper.In the first part,the causes of his great emotion for "singing out the sorrow of human beings" and his depression were analyzed so as to understand his sorrow and anger vividly,ardently and turbulently reflected in his short stories.His characters come from all walks of life,including intellectuals,ordinary proletarian workers,and historical figures drawn from foreign countries.All of them are embodied with Ba Jin's burning spirit,so as to establish a special visualized aesthetics.Also,in the last chapter,Ba Jin's diversified writing styles from the narratives were analyzed and reviewed,with the aim to have a better understanding of special value in Ba Jin's works.
