The Combination Of City Culture And Public Art

Today's society is in a stage of rapid economic development.The constant urbanization,the city spatial structure,ecological environment and protection of the city are all important aspects of urban construction.Every city has its own unique story and develops on the basis of history culture,natural environment,folk characteristics as well as conditions of economic,social and politics.These comprehensive factors created the city culture,which is the sum of spiritual wealth passed by the city residents' long-term common life and also can be defined as a cultural product accumulated by all sorts of historical experience.However,many cities pay too much attention to the material level and ignore the culture play the special role in the urban construction.Economy and culture are not contrary,likewise material and the spirit.In particular,the city as the main public space which people live in,should pay more attention to the city's design and planning.It's an effective way to combine the city's own culture and public art to create the city's brand culture through the public art design.This paper which regards Linfen city as the research object divide into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,mainly describes the background and significance of the research,research methods,research content as well as related research at home and abroad.The second part defines the following core concepts: “city culture”,“public art design”,“the visual expression of city culture”,and the “relationship between city culture and public art design”,which are related to the research topic.The third chapter is Linfen city culture and public art design.This part analyzes the combined results of city culture construction and public art design in Linfen city from four aspects: the combination of Linfen Gulou North and South Street transformation and publicart design,the combination of Linfen traditional culture and public art design,the combination of traditional patterns and public art design and the combination of Linfen public toilet and public art design.The fourth chapter is the breakthrough of the combination of public art design and city culture in Linfen.This part will summarize the shortage of Linfen city construction on the basis of the first three parts and find the appropriate methods to make the construction of city culture of Linfen in external packaging look more attractive with the help of the successful case of brand culture construction in the city at home and abroad.The fifth chapter is the conclusion which Summarize the full text.
