As a basic element of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,Chinese characters teaching is not only a difficulty,but also the key point in teaching,so how to cultivate overseas Chinese learners to lay a good foundation for writing Chinese characters has become the focus of Chinese teaching.However,teaching methods are different for learners in different countries.Based on the analysis of the situation of teaching Chinese characters in Tbilisi No.64 public school,the thesis summarizes the learning characteristics of Georgian learners and the problems in learning process.The purpose of this thesis is to put forward several effective teaching methods for Georgian learners,and provide some proofs of the successful teaching practice cases.In this paper,Chapter Two analyzes the current teaching situation of Chinese characters in Tbilisi No.64 public school,summarizing the common characteristics of Georgian learners' Chinese learning.Chapter Three is about learners' problems which they face in studying Chinese characters and try to find the reasons of these problems through contrasting the differences between Georgian and Chinese in pronunciation,shape and meaning.Chapter Four aims to discuss five effective teaching methods for Georgian learners and introduce how to use the methods in the class combined with learner specific situation.The last part discuss the viability though four Chinese character class samples which use the methods that we discuss in the chapter four.This paper summarizes the problem teachers should pay attention to though observing learners' behavior.It is hoped that the results will promote the teaching of Chinese characters in Georgia.
