The Study On Etymological Thought Of Concise Annotate Of Shuowen Jiezi Of Zhang Shunhui

The CONCISE ANNOTATE OF SHUOWEN JIEZI(or simply CONCISE ANNOTATE)of Zhang Shunhui is one of the treatise of study of ancient Chinese linguistic.In form,it is an annotate to SHUOWEN JIEZI,but in fact it shows two characteristics,paying attention to inter-word's phonetic-semantic relations and regarding etymology-pursue as ideal.It also has a historical philology field of vision.This paper uses Rhyme Yang as main ingredient material in the CONCISE ANNOTATE,along with putting the GUANG WENZI MENGQIU,the SHUOWEN XIESHENG ZHUANNIU PU and the HANYU YUYUAN SHENGXI used as a theoretical basis.This paper uses several methods to analyse the material,term,format and method of cognate-link in CONCISE ANNOTATE,which are description method,induction method,comprehensive analysis method,comparison proving method,and abstract method.At present we get the Zhang Shunhui's etymological thought conclusion.The main content of this paper includes five parts:The first chapter introduces Zhang Shunhui and his CONCISE ANNOTATE briefly.Zhang Shunhui is an expert in historical philology,also an all-round scholar in Four Branches of literature.The essentials of CONCISE ANNOTATE is “ to read extensively and to select concisely”.The second chapter analyses the basis of corpus: analyses cognate-link standard and collect cognate-link material.Zhang Shunhui's characteristic of cognate-link,in theory,is attaching importance to alliteration,in practice,is paying attention to the same-phonetic characters.The third chapter analyses the cognate-link term and format.Zhang Shunhui has followed previous common viewpoints.The single uses and combined uses of the terms can reflect his understanding of the cognate phenomena,also whether this understanding is scientific or precise.The fourth chapter analyses the cognate-link method.Zhang Shunhui inherited and developed the Xu Shen's and Zheng Xuan's academic research,also the Han,Song,Qing schools of classical philology.With special attention to alliteration,phonetic character in pictophonetic characters,lexical voice-transform and Chinese dialect,Zhang Shunhui uses these clues to arrange cognates,also uses the comparison proving method extensively.The fifth chapter explores and analyses Zhang Shunhui's etymological thought.The core of his thought is that “alliteration”(the process is that initial consonant of a Chinese syllable has multiplied in the form of “lexical voice-transform”)is the core method in lexical derivation and etymology evolution,also the important rule in cognate-link and etymology-ascertain.
