Study On The Identification Of Modern And Contemporary War Cultural Heritage In China

The war cultural heritage has been paid extensive attention to in the world since the Second World War.In recent decades,the theory of heritage during wars and after wars has been explored by international society from the perspectives of post-war heritage,military heritage and memorial heritage.Led by the United States and UNESCO,many countries and international organizations have conducted a large number of researches and practices in the field of war cultural heritage,driving the development and protection of cultural heritages.With decades of years of efforts in cultural heritage conservation,China has made preliminary achievements in the conservation of modern and contemporary war cultural heritage.China boasts diversified and unique modern and contemporary war cultural heritages,with important spiritual appeal,playing an important role in promoting the development of society,economy and culture.In-depth exploration of the historic,artistic,scientific,social and educational values of war cultural heritages is favorable to carrying forward cultural spirit and cherishing beautiful and peaceful life.Identification is the important prerequisite and necessary step for the conservation of cultural heritage,and systematic and complete operational procedures and identification methods are the key to the conservation of cultural heritage.However,due to the particularity and complexity of Chinese modern and contemporary war cultural heritages,there is still lack of specific identification method and a lot of works need to be done.On the premise.this paper studies and discusses identification method of modern and contemporary war cultural heritages in-depth.This paper is divided into three parts:The first and the second chapters,by reference with literature,analyzes basic identification theory of cultural heritages,and determines the development courses of cultural heritage(identify)at home and abroad.At the same time,the paper summarize the background and significance of the study of Chinese modern and contemporary war cultural heritages,as well as domestic and foreign research development theories,to analyze the characteristics of modern and contemporary war cultural heritages in categorization,spatial and temporal distribution,value composition and current combination status.And then,identify problems existing in the identification of heritages combined with the status quo of Chinese modern and contemporary war cultural heritages.In the third chapter,by reference with identification practices of cultural heritage at home and abroad,the author summarizes three basic characteristics of the identification of cultural heritage – dynamics,hierarchy and correlation,and establish an integrated identification method of cultural heritage.Through in-depth analysis of value composition,protection object,conservation principles,internal connection and intrinsic attribute of modern and contemporary war cultural heritage,proposes internal association between evental modern and contemporary war cultural heritages,while the function is also the intrinsic attribute of wars.Combined with above contents and problems existing in identification put forward in the second chapter,the paper aims to establish an integrated identification method based on a set of events for the conservation identification of both tangible and intangible heritages in modern and contemporary war cultural heritages by the development of a general identification process and corresponding standards and indicators.The fourth and the fifth chapters apply the method proposed in the paper to the conservation work of five different types of modern and contemporary war cultural heritages,such as Sichuan Hunan Hubei revolutionary base,Jiangtaipu revolutionary site,former site of Chongqing Anti-Japanese financial institution,Yangdu traditional town and modern and contemporary caricatures.And the method is adopted to compare conservation master strategy with original protection plan,to explore the applicability and feasibility of the method to a variety of modern and contemporary war cultural heritages.In the end,the author summarizes the completion and disadvantages of the method,to future study and deepen the protection of war cultural heritage in the future.
