A Comparison Between Foster's Ecological View And Organic Marxist Ecological View

With the development of society,ecological problems have aroused widespread concern among the people all over the world.People has also paid more and more attention to ecological protection.Low carbon,green,environmental friendly and sustainable development have become the basic demands of people's daily life.In the early industrial age with low productivity,the ecological problem was not yet obvious,and man and nature were in harmony.However,with the development of the capitalist industrial revolution and the birth of the capitalist mode of production,the natural environment has been destroyed unprecedentedly and ecological problems have become increasingly prominent,which also seriously influence the international relationships and world peace.Therefore,in order to avoid the further exacerbation of ecological problems and eliminate this ecological crisis,it is necessary to compare and study the two representative ecological theories.Based on the overview of Foster 's ecological view and organic Marxist ecology,this paper analyzes the background and origin of the two theories,and explains the main contents of the two ecological views in details.Foster occupies the leadship prosition in the school of North America ecological Marxism.His ecological view is one of the most representative in contemporary Western society.He has profoundly interpreted Marx's ecological thoughts.In addition,he launched a fierce criticism on the anti-ecological nature of the capitalist system.The organic Marxist ecology tries to inject the process philosophy of Whitehead into the Marxist theory,and then sequentially construct a new form of theory—Whitehead Marxism.According to its point of view of postmodernism,the reason that directly lead to the ecological crisis is "modernity" and the best way to solve that is elimination of "modernity.Through the comparative study of these two ecological views,the article reveals the common points and contrasts of both and explains the theoretical and practical significance of the comparison.The features and novelties of this paper are as follows: In recent years,a large number of articles have researched on the field of Foster's ecological view and organic Marxist ecological view.However,most articles are independent study of both.The emphasis of this article is comparison and contrast of Foster's ecological view and organic Marxist ecological view.It focuses on the analysis and explanation of differences of both two point of view,such as the different theoretical basis of philosophy,the different ideas about the roots of ecological crisis,the different value orientations and different solutions.These four levels of interlocking forms a complete system.In addition,this article has also discussed the theoretical significance and practical significance of comparative study between the two.In other words,it contributes to form new ecological view,establish contemporary Chinese ecological philosophy,accelerate construction of global ecological civilization and shape a beautiful China.However,this article is not only confined to this conclusion,but also further pointed out that the elimination of ecological crisis is not an overnight thing,the core of solving this problem is to create an inclusive,flexible civilization or culture to save the planet.
