A Report On Business Communications From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

With the development of globalization of economy,China is playing an increasingly important role in the international market.Many domestic enterprises are actively developing bigger international market;meanwhile,business communication highlights its importance since effective business communication helps a lot with the economic cooperation.Thus,for many businessmen,knowledge of business is far from enough.As a result,books about business communication emerge.But so far,there are many blanks in the domestic business books translation studies.Therefore,the translation of the business communication books has great research value.Under the guidance of Text Typology Theory,chapter four of the book Business Communications is chosen as the translation material.Since the book is a business textbook,which mainly talks about business communication skills and business writing norms,it is classified as informative text according to Text Typology Theory.Besides,there are many typical business examples in the book,which can be classified as vocative text and expressive text.Aiming at features of different text types,communicative translation method and semantic translation method are chosen to help solve the problems in the translation process such as jargon,complicated sentences and mixed text type.What's more,at the end of the report,translation strategies and skills for mixed type of text are summarized.The main aim to choose the book is to research the translation strategies and improve the translation quality of business English text with the guidance of Text Typology Theory.What's more,it's hoped that some contributions could be made to the translation of business textbook,and better environment could be built for the translation career in order to help businessmen communicate effectively in the business activity.
