The Enlightenment Of 'Cicada Culture' To The Development Of Eco-agriculture

Cicada(Insecta: Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadidae),also known as “Zhi Liao”,is widely distributed in China.As the insects that often were described by ancient pomes,they gradually are becoming the cicada culture during the long process of culture development.This paper aimed to explore the enlightenment of traditional ecological ethics concept of cicada culture to the modern ecological agriculture development based on the comprehensive analysis of ancient Chinese cicada culture.The main results are as follows:1."Compare Morality to Things" is used to compare and relate a person's moral quality with certain natural phenomena.This is the connection between natural attributes and social attributes."Beauty of Sadness" has become an important aesthetic imagery in China.With the proliferation of pomes regarding cicadas,the relationship between human and insects has developed into the poetry.Therefore,cicadas have become a cultural symbol.The most important idea of cicada culture is the harmonization between human and nature.As "Compare Morality to Things","Beauty of Sadness"," Nature and Man in One " and "Nature and Humanity",natural laws and human social laws should be combined together.Due to the influence of this cultural thought,there are some history limitations to understand the nature.2.Learning traditional concept of ecological ethics can help overcome drawbacks in modern science and technology,which makes us realize the harmonious between human and nature.This is a new type of dependency relationship,and it can solve the constraints of modern ecological agriculture development of ecological imbalance and a series of problems and environmental crises,promoting the sustainable development of ecological agriculture based on this relationship.This provides a philosophical basis for the development of ecological agriculture by catalyzing the transition from the theory of agricultural development to the coordinated development of ecological agriculture,and the transition from modern industrial civilization to postmodern ecological civilization.3.There are some shortcomings in this traditional ecological ethics,such as toomuch emphasis on harmony and neglect of conflict;too much emphasis on humanistic spirit and lack of scientific rationality;too much emphasis on value rationality and neglect of the technical rationality.Therefore,we must fully understand the value of the overall view of nature expressed by cicada culture and should also pay attention to its limitations,considering the modern science and technology theory and advanced methods to avoid these limitations.Science and technology are always the first productive forces to develop ecological agriculture.
