The Populace Armed Of The Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region During The Anti-Japanese War Period

After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,the main force of the Red Army,adapted to the Eighth Route Army,marched to the front of the war.Defending the border region mainly relied on the remaining forces of the Eighth Route Army,border security forces and the populace armed.The Populace Armed are an important force in the local armed forces armed to defend the border area,but also an important military guard and rear Corps supplementary source.During the war of resistance against Japan,under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC)and the Northwest Bureau,the people's armed forces in the border area developed rapidly.The populace armed of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region mainly consists of self-defence corps and the Young Pioneers,belonging to semi-military civil armed organizations.It is also the important local armed forces to protect the border region and the mothball force of Anti-Japan.After the August of 1937,the border region party committee not only arranged and expanded the armed populace based on the original armed masses,improving the organizations at all levels,including border counties,districts,towns and villages,but also organized military,political,cultural education,and regular military training.During the period of Anti-Japanese War,the main activities here are:(1)cooperating with the main force and local army against the Japanese;(2)assisting the main force to clear bandits and to fight against the anti-communist friction from Kuomintang die-hards;(3)taking an active part in the security work of anti-secret-agent struggles and eliminating traitors;(4)engaging in economic production,combat smuggling,maintaining the local public security.In the CPC Central Committee under the leadership of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region government to mobilize people to participate in the young pioneers,and the leadership and organizational system of armed people continue to improve,and gradually formed a people(armed guard,Young Pioneers),armed system security forces,the Eight Route Army Corps left behind "three in one" of the military.Under the leadership of the Communist party,people in the border region was widely involved in the mobilization of the anti-Japanese war,economic construction,cultural education and the maintenance of local order,which gave full play to the people's great strength through the armed populace.There are three main historic influences of the armed populace of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region.First,it strengthened the military forces to defend the border region;Second,it reduced the financial burden of the border region and the economic burden of the people;Then,it also promoted the border region's social progress and development;Finally,it made great contributions for defending the border region and liberating of northwest China after the victory of the anti-Japanese war.
