A Chinese-English Translation Report On Mysterious Mojiang,Where The Sun Turns Back(Excerpts)

This is a translation project report on an excerpt from Mysterious Mojiang,Where the Sun Turns Back by Han Yuehong.The book contributes to promoting and inheriting the Hani culture.It also provides more people with a showcase to realize Mojiang and understand the culture of the Hani ethnic group.More importantly,it protects cultural diversity of China and the world.Culture diversity is very precious and important in the development of globalization.This translation report is about the foreword,introduction and the first three chapters of the book.During translating,the Skopos theory and horizon of expectation are the theoretical guidance;domestication and foreignization are adopted as the strategy.This translation report consists of two parts: Part One is Translation,including the source text and the translated text.Part Two is the report of this translation practice,including four chapters.Chapter One is Introduction to the Translation Project,involving the background,objective and significance of this project.Chapter Two is Background of the Translation,giving an account of the theoretical basis,the text type,the linguistic features and preparation for the translation practice.Chapter Three is Translation Difficulties and Methods,presenting the difficulties in the translation and corresponding methods,which are analyzed with theories.Chapter Four is Summary,which summarizes lessons and experience learned and issues for further discussion in this translation practice.
