This report is a translation report.The original article comes from English journals,named Learning How to Speak Like a “Native”: Speech and Culture in an Online Communication Training Program,which is written by Tabitha Hart,a vice professor of San Jose State University in the US.It was published by SAGE on the Journal of Business and Technical Communication in 2016.The author translates the abstract and body of the article.The article mainly studies an online communication training program as well as how to speak like a native.This report contains four parts.The first part is the basic introduction to translation task,including introduction,program background,text content and program significance.The second part is the description of translation process,covering theoretical foundation,preparation before translation and proofreading after translation.The third part is case analysis from the perspective of expectancy norms,communication norms,relation norms and accountability norms respectively.The fourth part is the summary of translation program.Of all the parts,the second and third parts are the most important.As for translation norms,raised by Chesterman,they lay a theoretical foundation for translation.The author translates the text and analyzes some cases under the guidance of translation norms.During the process of translation,the author deepens the understanding of this theory and translation competence also gets improved.
