Metaphor and metonymy are not only rhetoric,but also a language phenomenon,a way of thinking,is the most basic human cognitive model.The basic activities of human beings are based on the experience of body perception,The human body as a medium for people to experience the outside world is given metaphor and metonymy,It plays an important role in the development of the conceptual structure of things and the development of language.This article first describes the theory of metaphor and metonymy,and starts with the specific human word “face” in metaphor and metaphorical meaning in the story of “The Story of the Letters”,focusing on the human word in Uygur language “face” and the cognitive mechanism of metaphor and metonymy is analyzed reasonably and how to adopt reasonable translation method in the process of translation.
