With the brave tries on capital,information,system,policy and public opinion,the changing of the core of documentary originated from the gap in the industrial transformation of new and old industries.The Chinese food documentary experienced the transition from “Brand Year One”,“Platform Year” to “Public Year” in 5 years.The Chinese documentary could not break through the overall market barrier before the new century,which promoted more accurate and direct implementation of subsequent political policies and market systems(standard/value/specification system).Many“icebreaking” actions are carrying out.Among these,as a new comer in the excellent documentary markets around the world,the master work of Chinese food documentary A Bite of China becomes a power of “brand” that cannot be underestimated in a short time.The author here introduced the concept of “Power” into the overall situation of development of Chinese food documentary.“Power” is “Force” in itself,which is shown in the policy support,media discourse,attention of industry and the public that“appeared in front” as well as in investment,production,publishing,and watching as“support behind the scene”.In terms of overall situation,the Chinese food documentary experienced a high-profile “beginning power” for the development of overall documentary in 2012,which was growing in the spring chill.It caused every field to seek the move as planned and prepare “accumulating the power” strongly.They all focused on the creation and planning of new industry situation,which created many significantly meaningful “breakthrough power” measures.This paper selected A Bite of China I and The Flavor China as key frames of Chinese food documentary since 2012 and took A Bite of China I,A Bite of China II,A Bite of China: Celebrating the Chinese New Year and A Bite of China III as main examples to review the performance and connotation of the development of Chinese food documentary industry in this period: explore film Tasting Treasures of China following A Bite of China I,Taste of City-the companion volume of A Bite of China II,Taste of China – a pioneer of film A Bite of China: Celebrating the Chinese New Year,the “Micro documentary” Daily Food Documentary inspired by A Bite of China series and Canteen of Indoorsmen-a new form of “Internet+Food” food documentary,for further discussion of the situation,origin,status and trend of the development of series food documentary.
