Since the new century,with the development of the Internet age and the rise of the new generation of consumer groups,the increasingly diverse aesthetic appeal and cultural expression are affecting modern people's understanding of society.In this era of developed commercialism and convenient network resources,people's material life is satisfied,and they begin to pursue spiritual aesthetic needs.At the same time,Chinese food documentary films are springing up in various forms of expression in front of the audience.Through literature analysis and case analysis,this paper studies 32 works(292 episodes)of Chinese food documentaries in the new century,and divides the Chinese food documentaries in the new century into three main types: region,food materials and season from the perspective of theme.The analysis shows that the gastronomic documentary mainly relies on technical means to express the gastronomic attributes,and the use of macro lens is the most extensive way of expression in the gastronomic documentary.The lens and screen cooperate with the background music to control the narrative rhythm,add commentaries to assist in explaining the story content,and then set the story suspense and plot with the narrative technique of storytelling,so as to achieve the effect of enhancing the attraction of the film,and explain the characters and the story behind the food by showing the origin and production of the food.From the perspective of genre,type and art form,the new media technology involved in food documentary now brings about changes in the channels of film communication,changes in the length of the film and changes in the characteristics of the audience.After a comprehensive analysis of the creation characteristics of perfect food documentary,I launched a research on the creation of the graduation project documentary "pondering the potatoes of various changes".Through the selection of potato food theme,the documentary film narrates from the omniscient angle.The potato food is shot mainly with close-up shot,which shows the texture of "micro" food with lens language;the detailed image presentation enhances the civilian narrative expression;the local music highlights the regional cultural characteristics;the interesting expression of animation effect improves the aesthetic quality of the film.Through case analysis and practical research,this paper summarizes that food documentary starts from presenting food and finally expresses culture.Through food story telling,it explores the main creative characteristics of multiple flavor variations life behind food,and shows the story between people and food.
