Research On The Usage Of Utensil Words In An Annotated Collection Of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts

Appliances,means necessary tools in the life and work.There is a large number of description of farming equipments in Dongba Scripture,such as farming tools,craftsman tools,old weapons.Utensil words are closely tied to the Naxi people's production and living,widely,frequently used.Dongba utensil words are unique in the language or characters,it has a unique research value.An Annotated Collection of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts has 100 volumes.including 897 Dongba classics.and more than 1500 ancient Dongba books,it's a precious material in study of Dongba Manu scripts.The author based on An Annotated Collection of Naxi Dongba Manuscripts,completely colle cted the utensil words mentioned in these postscripts.and did research on these words with the word's fonts in dictionaries,which reflects the Naxi nationality social cultural phenomenon.In this paper,there are four chapters except the introduction.The introduction mainly analyzes and expounds the utensil words in the Collection from the aspects of the current research status,research object,usage of materials,research methods,research significance and so on.From Chapter II to Chapter IV,based on Baoshan,Mingyin,Dadong,Lijiang and Ludian regions,this paper compares and analyzes the usage status of characters and features of characters of commonly used and singly used utensil words in the Collection,and study the application characteristics of utensil words showed in the above-mentioned three regions in terms of usage of characters,shape of characters,ways to record language of utensil words etc.The fifth chapter is about the comparative research on the usage of characters of scriptures utensil words in the above-mentioned three regions and finds out reasons that result in the differences of usage of characters in different regions by analyzing the characteristics of characters usage in commonly used and singly used utensil words.According to the analysis,there exists many reasons,including the development law of internal writing system,variant forms of the same character resulting from different opinions,the unique usage of Dongba characters,the occurrence frequency of words and so on.
