An Experimental Research For Convalescent Schizophrenic Patients Of Facial Emotions Categorical Perception Influence Factors

Objective This study through three parallel behavior experimental research,respectively discussed the relationship between �(1)positive negative symptoms,(2)face expression mode,(3)the current emotional state' and convalescent schizophrenia patients' face expression categorical perception.To find factors affecting patients' face expression categorical perception,rich social cognitive theory of schizophrenia patients,provide empirical research on social function rehabilitation about schizophrenia patients,and lay a solid foundation in terms of intervention in the future.Methods(1)Investigation research: In study 1,using general information questionnaire to engrave the patients' general situation,using positive and negative symptoms scale to investigate the patient's mental condition,and through the scale divided patients into high group and low group.Finding the difference between patients and normal subjects in face expression categorical perception.(2)Experimental research: in each study,we used a research methods with behavioral experiments.By controlling the patients' positive and negative score,face expression mood,and the property of emotion elicitation,to compare categorical boundaries and reaction slope between patients and normal subjects.Find out the differences about patients in face expression categorical perception.Results(1)In the study of the relationship between negative positive symptoms and face expression categorical perception,there is no significant difference among positive symptom high score group,positive symptom low score group and normal control group in categorical boundaries and reaction slope(p<0.05).At the same time,there are significant difference among negative symptom high score group,negative symptom low score group and normal control group in categorical boundaries but not in reaction slope(p<0.05).(2)In the study of the influence of face expression mode on face expression categorical perception,the results are described below: 1)For categorical boundary,two groups of participants have no significant main effect [F(1,140)=2.43,p=0.12],face expression mode has significant main effect [F(1.63,227.76)=99.26,p<0.001],and there was significant interaction [F(1.63,227.76)=18.72,p<0.001].2)For reaction slope,two groups of participants have significant main effect [F(1,140)=17.70,p<0.001],face expression mode has significant main effect [F(2,280)=7.20,p=0.001],and interaction are not significant [F(2,280)=1.10,p=0.335].(3)In the study of the influence of the current emotional state on face expression categorical perception,the results are described below: 1)For categorical boundary,two groups of participants have no significant main effect [F(1,108)=2.35,p=0.128],the property of emotion elicitation has significant main effect [F(1.50,162.14)=59.49,p<0.001],and there was significant interaction[F(1.50,162.14)=36.33,p<0.001].2)For reaction slope,two groups of participants have significant main effect [F(1,108)=10.06,p=0.002],the property of emotion elicitation has significant main effect [F(2,216)=6.80,p=0.001],and interaction are marginal significant [F(2,216)=2.90,p=0.057].Conclusions For convalescent schizophrenic patients,this research has some conclusions.(1)Negative symptoms affect face expression categorical perception,especially categorical boundary.More serious the negative symptoms are,patients are more likely to classify fuzzy expressions into sadness instead of happiness.(2)Face expression mode will affect patients' face expression categorical perception.For categorical boundary,when observing full face,patients are approximately same as normal subjects when classify happiness and sadness;when observing the lower half face,patients tend to classify fuzzy expression as happy;when observing the upper half face,patients tend to classify fuzzy expression as sadness.It indicated that when information of face is insufficient,patients' classification of fuzzy expressions has obvious deficits.For reaction slope,in all face expression mode,patients group were significantly less than the normal control group.Patients' sensitivity to the categorical boundary worse than normal subjects.And reaction slope in upper face is significantly less than other face expression mode.Patients are most insensitive for categorical boundary of upper face.(3)The property of emotion elicitation is more likely to affect normal subjects' face expression categorical perception.It has a lighter effect to patients.For categorical boundary,under the condition of neutral and positive emotions evoked,patient's categorical boundary is similar to normal subjects;under the condition of negative emotions evoked,patients are more easily classify blurred face expression as happiness.Patients in the three property of emotion elicitation,categorical boundary is close while normal control group is separated each other.For reaction slope,the reaction slope of patients does not vary with the property of emotion elicitation.
