Micro-blog is an accessing new platform for sharing,spreading and obtaining information between network users.Most researches on discourse intertextuality have focused on discourses in advertisement,speech,news and literature,but rarely on Micro-blog discourse,not to mention extensively or thoroughly.What's more,studies from the pragmatic perspective were mainly concerned with intertextual phenomena and manifestations and the exploration of formation mechanism.This study will give a deep investigation on the intertextuality in Micro-blog discourse within the framework of Adaptation Theory.with the attempt of providing a new theoretical approach to the intertextuality analysis in Micro-blogs and giving help to the choosing and understanding of intertextuality strategies,so as to achieve a better communication between the writers and readers of micro-blogs.This study explores the following three issues:(1)What are features of Micro-blogs intertextuality and what are the reasons for the formation of its features?(2)How is smooth communication achieved between Micro-blogs and readers through intertextuality strategies?(3)What are the functions of intertextuality in Micro-blogs in the process of adaptation ?We take as our subject 100 pieces of Sina Micro-blogs from September 2015 to September 2016 whose forwarding amounts to more than 5000.We first,classify intertextuality in the selected Micro-blog pieces into genre intertextuality,form intertextuality,language and culture intertextuality,explore the reasons for the formation of the distribution features in terms of discourse proper,blog writers and readers,and discuss the features of intertextuality.We then proceed to investigate,within the framework of Verschueren's Adaptation Theory,the adaptation features of the three types intertextuality to find out the common ground of intertextuality in the process of achieving adaptation.The functions of intertextuality in the Micro-blogs in the adaptation process are examinedResearch findings of this study are as follows:(1)Intertextuality in the selected Micro-blog texts can be generally divided into genre intertextuality,form intertextuality,language and cultural intertextuality.Among the three,form intertextuality is the mainstrategy while the other two types are not as much.Intertextual languages in Micro-blogs tend to be networked and colloquial.Reasons for this is that as a network transmission platform,the Micro-blog aims at spreading information and expanding its influence on the public.Form intertextuality in the Micro-blog includes various forms of multimedia,hyperlinks and organization form of texts based on commonly used languages,which is a direct and effective way to transmit information and enlarge the influence and range.Besides,since Micro-blog users diverge in age,knowledge,cultural background,experience,and cognition,colloquial language is easier for more readers to understand,accept and spread.This also explains why the style of public language tends to be informal.(2)Genre intertextuality,form intertextuality,and language and culture intertextuality are effective strategies for smooth communication between writers and readers as adaptations on contextual correlates,structure objects and salience degrees of intertextuality effectively promote the communication between them(3)Form and genre intertextuality increase the persuasiveness.They are used frequently in advertising and news blogs.Language and cultural intertextuality is conducive to achieving emotional resonance and construction of social identity.Therefore it is necessary to select proper intertextuality according to different discourse types,communicative purposes,and functions of intertextuality types.
